Machine Learning, Software Engineer, DevOps, and backend architecture for cloud-first products.

Backend-focused Software Engineer building scalable, production-ready systems across cloud, data, and AI-driven products.
I specialize in designing backend systems that scale predictably, fail gracefully, and remain observable in production. Most of my work lives at the intersection of application logic and cloud infrastructure, where performance, reliability, and security actually matter.
I’ve worked across e-commerce, cloud platforms, and data-heavy systems, replacing fragile legacy workflows with event-driven architectures, clean APIs, and automation-first infrastructure. I care deeply about schema design, backward compatibility, and systems that evolve without breaking production.
This portfolio is a living space where I document real projects, experiment with modern tooling, and share how I think about building software that holds up in the real world.
Roles spanning industry products and academic instruction.
Full-time engineering roles delivering production systems at scale.
Teaching and research positions focused on applied software skills.

My Personal Portfolio
1. Built a personal portfolio with Next.js App Router, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS to showcase projects, experience, skills, and certifications.
2. Designed a modular, section‑based layout with reusable UI components and scroll‑triggered reveal animations.
3. Set up a GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline to build the app and deploy the static export to cPanel via FTP on each main push.

Identification & Mitigation of C/C++ Code Vulnerabilities leveraging Gemeni Pro
1. Built a RAG-based AI system combining Code Property Graphs (CPGs) and LLM reasoning to detect and mitigate security vulnerabilities in C/C++ code.
2. Engineered a multi-agent architecture, where specialized agents analyze distinct vulnerability classes and resolve conflicting signals on shared code paths.
3. Integrated graph ML (PyTorch, DGL) with vector search (PineconeDB) and Gemini Pro to deliver context-aware, actionable security fixes.

Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipeline for the National Vulnerability Database (NVD)
1. Fetch and process NVD CVE 2.0 JSON feeds, handling schema validation, deduplication, and versioned output generation.
2. Normalise the data by extracting and structuring key fields such as CVE ID, description, severity scores, affected products, and published dates.
3. Mapped CVE records by products and their vendors using metadata from the CPE dictionary.

“I found Danish to be a very quick learner with exceptional skills in his field. He is highly responsive, responsible, and always takes ownership of his work. One thing I really appreciated about Danish was his ability to look at problems from different angles and come up with smart, effective solutions. His attitude and skill set made him a strong contributor to the team, and I wish him all the best for his future.”

“Danish Asim is one of those team members who doesn’t just do tasks — he takes full ownership. Once a responsibility is assigned, he treats it like his own business. He thinks ahead, solves problems proactively, and ensures delivery without constant follow-ups. What I value most about Danish is his sense of responsibility, reliability, and commitment. He genuinely cares about the outcome, not just the output — and that makes a huge difference in any growing organization.”
Co-founder & CEO • Rex Technologies
“Working with him during our Capstone (CMSC473) was a great experience. He is extremely responsible and someone you can truly rely on when things get challenging. Communication was always clear and proactive, which made teamwork smooth and efficient throughout the project. What impressed me the most was his leadership and commitment. Even during stressful moments near the deadline, he stayed focused, guided the team forward, and made sure we finished strong. I still remember the nights we stayed up together to finalize everything. His dedication and work ethic motivated the entire team. If I had the chance, I would gladly work with him again. Any team would be lucky to have someone with this level of ownership, reliability, and leadership.”

“Danish was very smart in setting up the terraform entirely and was able to design the entire AWS architecture perfectly. He was pitch perfect on the timeline and ensured everything was done in a systematic way . He had immense knowledge on cloud architecture and technicalities. It was great working with him . He was the main reason for the successful completion of the project.”
